Isabel Martínez is one of the most distinctive personalities of classical guitar's newest generation. She has developed her craft by studying with some of the best maestros of our time. She holds a Master of Performance from the University of Alicante where she was praised by renowned guitarist Manuel Barrueco: “Isabel has distinguished herself as one of the best guitarists in this international group of high leveled musicians... a very refined, kind and intelligent person”.

She is regularly invited to perform at International Festivals in Europe, Asia, North and South America where she shares the essence of Spanish music through the classical guitar, featuring works by Tárrega, Albéniz, Granados, Falla, Turina and Rodrigo, among others.

Isabel Martínez was born in Cartagena (Spain) and began playing guitar at the age of 7 under the tuition of Susi Alfonso. She completed a Bachelor’s degree with Honors at the Music Conservatory of Alicante under prof. Ignacio Rodes, and a Master of Performance (AIS) with Distinction at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, under prof. Robert Brightmore.

In addition, Isabel has also worked with internationally renowned musicians including David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, Hopkinson Smith, Paul O'Dette, José Miguel Moreno, Fabio Zanon, Roberto Aussel, Shin-Ichi Fukuda, Pavel Steidl, Graham Devine, Ricardo Gallén, Joaquín Clerch, Eduardo Baranzano, Eduardo Fernández, Carlo Marchione, Miguel Trápaga, Margarita Escarpa, Marcin Dylla and David Miller.

She has been supported with generous scholarships from Telefónica, the Anglo-Spanish Society, Banco Sabadell Foundation, Adele Kramer-Chappell, The Music Students' Hostel Trust and The City of London Corporation Foundation. She plays on a guitar by luthier Paco Santiago Marin and uses Augustine Strings.
In addition to her concert career, Isabel also shares her passion for music to a select group of students at the Conservatory of Music in San Javier (Murcia).
